The Most Powerful Thing To Do

Almost every new channel, newspaper and media organisation is speaking about only one thing. How Narendra Modi has been selected as the Prime Ministerial candidate and how a few people in the BJP, LK Advani are not too happy as they want to be PM. I am not someone who has a lot of interest in politics, nor am I really a supporter of any political party. But we get to learn a lot from what is happening.

Everyone seems to want power. Everyone wants to be the PM of the country. Everyone wants to be a leader. Power gives the ultimate high, but instead of trying to fight and be hungry for power, there is something else that can be done. Something that can actually be quite liberating - simply letting go of the struggle for power will give immense power. It will give freedom and nothing is as powerful as freedom.

LK Advani, should gracefully declare that he has no desire to be the country's PM and suddenly he will feel liberated and powerful. Try it in your life and you will see how beautifully this works. Try letting go - if you want a particular job or business contract or for that matter want to impress that particular girl, simply stop trying so hard. Just let go and be relaxed, feel free and positive, you will automatically start feeling more in control, feeling powerful and attract what is good.

Sometimes trying too hard makes you look desperate, eager and weak. Do your duty and then let go.

This can be explained with a very simple example, imagine both your hands are pulled back all the way, behind your hips, and a thick rope is used to tie them up. Both your hands are tied in a knot together, now if you want to free your hands what do you do?

I am sure a few of you are feeling uncomfortable thinking about it, if you try to struggle and tense up - the rope will tighten. The knot will get tighter and tighter the more you struggle. Right? On the other hand if you were to simply relax, and stop trying too hard, relax and calm down, you could gently wiggle out of the rope.

Several situations in life too are just like that. The first thing you need to do is calm down, relax and gently wiggle out of your way.

Real power comes once you are willing to accept that you don't need to be power hungry. Life isn't a power struggle, life isn't a race to get the most votes or the most power, but a beautiful journey. It is about experiencing this journey, and nothing can be more powerful than experiencing all this wonderful world has to offer to us.

Keep smiling!
